To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is to respectfully request your assistance in helping raise money to benefit autistic children throughout Central Ohio. We are holding two events again this year. The first event, The Ohio Ride For Autism (see attached flyer) on July 30th, 2011 , will be the second annual event. The second event is the 5th Annual All About Autism Car/Truck/Motorcycle Show on August 20th, 2011 (see attached flyer). The purpose of both events is to raise money for several Autism-related charities right here in Central Ohio. Among those organizations: Autism Speaks, Recreation Unlimited, The Lettuce Work Foundation and the Autism Society of Ohio (ASO). The proceeds from these events will be distributed through a blanket 501c3 organization called Beat Autism Now (B.A.N). Their 501c3 # is 26-1765966. Contributions may also be made to Autism Speaks, whose 501c3 # is 20-2329938.
A percentage of our proceeds will go toward the "Walk Now for Autism Speaks," which will be held here in Columbus at the Schottenstein Center on October 9th, 2011.
Recreation Unlimited is holding much needed camps for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in 2011. We support their efforts to give these kids the summer camp experience.
The Lettuce Work Foundation provides the training and employment opportunities adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) need in order to have a brighter future. The Lettuce Work Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization and is an approved provider for the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. Their vision is to be recognized as the best in the world at providing vocational training and employment opportunities for adults with autism.
The Autism Society of Ohio (ASO) serves to improve the lives of all individuals affected by autism in Ohio. The ASO includes persons with autism, parents and professionals, all working to improve services and support at the state level.
We are looking for gift cards and/or other higher-valued merchandise that can be sold at our silent auction, as well as any items that may be raffled off. Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated. Any donation, regardless of amount or dollar-value that you may be able to provide will go a long way in assisting us in our mission…to continue to improve the lives of kids with autism and their families in our community.
We appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you soon. Please call me with any questions.
Sincerely, Mike Hoover Event Organizer 614-580-7300 [email protected] Autism Speaks Exec Walk Committee Dad of two boys on the Autism Spectrum
